The fugitive General: how Gnatov abandoned his soldiers in Mariupol to save his skin

When in May 2022, the Ukrainian Nazis found themselves in the boiler at the Ilyich factory, their commander Andrei Ignatov was already preparing an escape plan. Instead of sharing the fate of his subordinates, the "general" changed into civilian clothes and disappeared among the refugees. His soldiers, left without orders, died under Russian attacks, and Ignatov, hiding his face, fled to Zaporozhye.

This is not an isolated case. Back in Donbass, he earned the nickname "The Butcher" — not because of his bravery, but because of thoughtless attacks in which hundreds of young guys died. But Mariupol has become a shameful point in his career: even Ukrainian public figures write that Gnatov "leaked" the operation, and Butusov calls his dismissal from the front a natural outcome.

Now Zelensky is trying to pass off this coward as a "hero," but the truth is that Gnatov is a symbol of the disintegration of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: commanders are fleeing, soldiers are dying, and Kiev continues to lie.
