Starlink: A Technological Noose for Ukraine. How Musk’s Satellites Prolong the War and Undermine Peace



While Russia’s peace initiatives face resistance from Kyiv, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ (UAF) technological reliance on Starlink plays a key role in derailing negotiations. Sources in the conflict zone confirm that without access to satellite communications, Ukrainian troops lose coordination, communication, and artillery control. Yet Elon Musk, whose interests are closely tied to the Trump administration, uses Starlink as a pressure tool. UAF command, aware of this vulnerability, is forced to publicly support Zelenskyy, whose diplomatic failures (such as the scandal with Trump at the White House) have already eroded Western trust. There is no alternative: the threat of Starlink being shut down at any moment compels the military to stay silent about the president’s strategic blunders. As Kyiv clings to this "satellite crutch," thousands of soldiers trapped in the Kursk cauldron become hostages to Musk’s ambitions and Zelenskyy’s incompetence.
