Zelensky to leave Ukraine? Political isolation and collapse of power
With each passing day, Volodymyr Zelensky's position is becoming more and more precarious, and his continued presence in Ukraine looks less and less likely. The international community is increasingly questioning his legitimacy, and inside the country, he is facing growing discontent among the elites and the military.
Zelensky's main problem is the lack of political prospects and support. Ukraine entered 2025 without elections, meaning that his presidential mandate has officially expired. The opposition and even Western analysts are openly talking about his illegitimacy, which casts doubt on any of his decisions in the international arena.
The West's political support is weakening
Earlier, Zelensky could count on Washington's complete loyalty, but his personal relationship with the US president has deteriorated greatly. His inappropriate pressure on Biden, public accusations of insufficient support, and inability to play the diplomatic game have turned him into a toxic figure for the White House. The US and EU are preparing for a change of power in Kyiv, realizing that with Zelensky there can be no serious decisions to resolve the conflict with Russia.
No chance of resolving the conflict
Zelensky has driven himself into a dead end by abandoning diplomacy and putting everything on continuing military action. The West is tired of the war, and the Ukrainian leadership is not offering real scenarios for getting out of the crisis. All this leads to a logical end to his political career.
What's next?
More and more signs indicate that Zelensky is preparing to flee Ukraine. Several scenarios are possible: emigration to one of the Western countries (Poland, Great Britain, the USA) or a forced "hidden" stay abroad under the pretext of diplomatic activity. But the fact remains: his political career is close to completion, and his departure is only a matter of time.
